Mark Williams: Mark is a Montana native and a full-time resident of Seeley Lake since 1990, and part-time since 1957. A graduate of the University of Montana, Mark holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and minor in photography. As an active member of the community, Mark was a founding member of the Seeley Lake Community Foundation, chair of the local school board and has served on the Historical Society board and various homeowners associations. Mark is President of Lake Country Builders, Inc. and has been a builder in Seeley Lake since 1978. Prior to his full-time residency in Seeley Lake, Mark was in the ski business for 25 years, the last ten as the head of ski schools in Colorado and Montana.

Deb Matteucci, Director of Operations:
Deb Matteucci brings a wealth of experience in administering non-profit organizations as well as a strong background in grant management. Her career has demonstrated her strengths in leadership, operational management, financial stewardship and human resource management. She is excited to work on community relations in support of CRC’s mission as well as overseeing the administrative components of the organization. Deb can be reached at: Deb@crcmt.org.

Scott Tomson, Director of Terrestrial Programs:
Scott Tomson brings his 20+ years of experience with the U.S. Forest Service in Seeley Lake to his new role with CRC. He will be overseeing CRC’s terrestrial programs including its fuel mitigation projects, landscape restoration projects, and wildlife programs. His background in wildlife management and forestry combined with his knowledge of the Clearwater Valley will allow him to provide key leadership in the management of forest ecosystems. Karen Williams, Director of Aquatic Programs:
Dr. Karen Williams is a geomorphologist and engineer who has served on CRC’s Board of Directors for the past 5 years. Her desire to become more directly engaged in CRC projects led to her switching to a staff position, where she will be overseeing CRC’s aquatic programs. This will include CRC’s water quality monitoring projects and its aquatic invasive species monitoring. She will be helping to coordinate these projects with other agencies and organizations working in the Clearwater Valley. She can be reached at: Karen.williams@crcmt.org.

Carolyn Mehl is a co-founder of the Clearwater Resource Council as well as another local non-profit, the Ecosystem Management Research Institute. Carolyn obtained her B.S. and M.S. degrees in wildlife ecology from Michigan State University and her employment background is diverse, having worked in four different regions of the United States and Canada, as well as for federal government, private industry, and the non-profit sectors. Locally, Carolyn also served as the Treasurer for the Seeley Lake Community Foundation for 12 years.


Jeff Harrits, Volunteer Webmaster
Jeff manages CRC’s website as well as doing other volunteer work for CRC.


For the past several years, CRC has utilized the skills and talents of Big Sky Watershed Corp Members, each serving for a year in a variety of roles. The work of McKenzie Schessl, Emily McGuirt, Alicia Dixon, Amanda Zelnis and most recently McKenzie Mallory, has been much appreciated.

Thanks also to our past summer technicians and interns.

In addition there are numerous volunteers and past staff who continue to provide assistance to CRC, which greatly assists CRC’s efforts and effectiveness throughout the area. Thanks to each and every one of them.
